WICS vs. Sustainability

A combination that may not be completely self-evident. We would therefore like to explain by means of a number of examples how WICS’ WMS contributes to more sustainable business operations.

The most obvious is the paper consumption that goes down. Think of the paper stock lists, packing slips, announcements, receipt confirmations. All this can be digitally automated with WICS. If you switch to working with Scan/Voice/Pick-to-light, the paper consumption will decrease even further.

In addition, WICS provides insight into the stock in the entire chain, so that purchasing can be done in a much more targeted way. We prevent the carrier from transporting unnecessary stock and reduce CO2 emissions.

With a smart pick-up optimization, WICS’ WMS ensures that the empty running of the forklift trucks is drastically reduced. You do not have to drive as often and so we ensure that you use less energy. “Never walk empty-handed!”
A good example; the service in a restaurant very often runs with an empty tray. When your order is delivered, the tray is full, after which it is returned empty. Along the way, a few empty glasses or plates could easily have been taken back from another table. However, someone else will come to do that; go with an empty tray and back with a full tray. This could all have been done by the same person with a tray that had not been continuously empty.

In short, consciously and unconsciously, the use of the WICS WMS has ensured that our customers work more sustainably for more than 30 years.
